In his career, Mamadou Sakho has met many historic players. He who played alongside Karim Benzema, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Steven Gerrard, Frank Ribéry or even Luis Suarez, spent his end of career at MHSC, where he helped the club thanks to his experience at the highest level.

Arrived in Liverpool in the summer of 2013 from PSG, the former French international spent 3 seasons with the Reds, before joining the more modest club Crystal Palace (from 2016-17 to 2020-21). Aware of the great career he had, Mamadou Sakho spoke about his passage across the Channel on the official website of the Montpellier club. “I had the chance to evolve with exceptional players and to experience the last games of Steven Gerrard’s career in particular, which was something exceptional. People may not be fully aware of the impact the Liverpool club has around the world. The fans are just amazing. You have to live with this jersey on your shoulders to understand it. As for Crystal Palace, it was another experience, another challenge with different objectives, but we still had a great team with Yohan Cabaye in particular… Living in London was also a wonderful opportunity.” Moving words from a player who has not had an easy journey.

For his end of career, the Frenchman would see himself taking up one last challenge. According to FootMercato, Sakho could well end his career at Young Boys.
