The South Korean company Samsung has presented this Tuesdayyour new ‘smartphone’ Galaxy S20 UltraWith a camera capable of zooming up to 100x and compatible with 5G data networks. As usual, the company is ahead of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) of Barcelona to present its new flagship company.
During his‘Unpacked’ event, which has been held in the US city of San Francisco and, simultaneously, in London – where most of the Spanish press has come -, the company has presented the three models of its star family: Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 Plus and Galaxy S20 Ultra.
The top of the range is the Galaxy S20 Ultra, which has a rear camera withfour lenss: a principal of 108 megapixels; a wide angle with 12MP sensor; a 48MP telephoto lens, capable of performing a 10x optical zoom and a hybrid of up to 100x; and the ToF sensor, responsible for measuring the distance at which the photographed objects are located to improve the focus. For its part, the front camera has 40MP (f / 2.2).
The camera of the Galaxy S20 Ultra includesa function called ‘single take’, through which the phone will use all the cameras simultaneously, as well as Artificial Intelligence (AI) to offer the user several images and videos that he can then choose. This function is also available on the Galaxy S20 and the Galaxy S20 Plus.
Another novelty in terms of photography is that when the user takes a high resolution photo with the new Galaxy S20, it canzoom and cropthe part that interests you while maintaining quality. In addition, the new Galaxy S20 Ultra allows you to record videos in 8K and take photos of 33 megapixels simultaneously.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra will be released for a starting price of1,359 euros(12 + 128 GB), which will amount to1,559 eurosin its version of 16 GB of RAM and 512GB of storage (expandable to 1TB in both cases by MicroSD card). His little brothers will start from909 euros, in the case of the Galaxy S20, and the1,009 euros, in the case of the Galaxy S20 Plus. The new Samsung phones will be available in the Spanish market from February 13.
The Ultra version stands out above the rest for its 6.9-inch screen, Dynamic AMOLED technology and HDR10 + resolution. It also has dimensions of 166.9 x 76x 8.8 mm, weighs 220 grams and has a battery of 5,000 mAh capacity.
The whole new Galaxy family has a4G compatible versionand another with 5G. In addition, they include an improved wireless charging speed, as well as the ‘Wireless PowerShare’ technology, which already included the previous generation and allows the mobile to be used as a charging point for other devices.
The new Samsung Galaxy S20 also haveintegrated several sensors, among them an ultrasonic fingerprint, as well as geomagnetic sensor, RGB light sensor and proximity sensor. The three terminals have a 7-nanometer Exynos 990 processor, fingerprint reader, unlocking with facial recognition and protection against dust and water IP68.
On the other hand, Samsung has introduced a new feature on its devices called‘QuickShare’, which allows you to share content with people who are nearby via WiFi. This function gives users the possibility of exchanging heavy files with several people simultaneously.
S20 and S20 Plus
The basic model of Samsung’s new family, the Galaxy S20, has aDynamic AMOLED display6.2 inches with HDR10 + resolution, weighs 163 grams and has a dimension of 151.7 x 69.1 x 7.9 millimeters. The Plus version, meanwhile, increases the screen size to 6.7 inches and, consequently, its size and weight (186 grams).
The Galaxy S20 includes a 4,000 mAh battery and a triple camera with a 12MP main lens, a 12 MP wide-angle camera and a 64-megapixel telephoto lens that allows a three-magnification optical zoom and a hybrid of 30. The ‘smartphone The smallest of the Galaxy S20 generation has a 10MP front selfie camera with a notch-shaped design to occupy the smallest possible screen space.
The Galaxy S20 Plus version maintainsthe same lenses of the S20 model, which stand out for their luminosity (with a diaphragm aperture in the different lenses that ranges from f / 1.82 in the main camera to f / 2.2 of the angular and front camera) and also adds the ToF sensor. The main improvements of the ‘Plus’ are perceived on the screen and on the battery, which reaches 4,500 mAh.
Samsung has taken the opportunity to also present itsnew wireless headphonesGalaxy Buds Plus, which promise 11 hours of autonomy – in front of six hours of its predecessors – and incorporates two microphones instead of one. As a launch promotion, users who buy the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus or the S20 Ultra will receive the new Galaxy Buds Plus for free.
