San Antonio narrowly lost to Phoenix

The San Antonio Spurs challenged the Phoenix Suns to the full, but couldn’t stop them. With a trembling 115: 111 at the end, the team from Arizona celebrated their 13th win in a row in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The Texans, in turn, lost for the fifth time in a row. Spurs center Jakob Pöltl just missed a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds. He also recorded two assists in 31:15 minutes.

In his second appearance after being released from the league’s “health and safety protocol”, Pöltl returned to the starting lineup. The fact that the game, which had been controlled by the Suns for a long time, became exciting again in the fourth quarter was also due to him. Austria’s NBA pioneer scored six points within two minutes and brought his team to 95: 100. Even after the following 10-0 run by the guests, the Texans didn’t give up. “We fought our way up very well in the end, but were unable to prevent them (the Suns, note) from scoring too often,” said the Viennese. He himself surpassed 1,500 points in the dress of San Antonio on Monday and is currently at 1,502.

For the Spurs, who have only recorded four wins after 16 games this season, the duel with Phoenix was the first of four home games in a row. On Wednesday the Atlanta Hawks will face, on Friday the Boston Celtics and next Monday the Washington Wizards will come to “Alamo City”.

Boston, of all places, had more staff than last on board against the bottom of the Houston Rockets with Jaylen Brown and Robert Williams III. The duo reported back after eight or three missed games. The offensive command of the record champions was once again Jayson Tatum, who broke the 30-point mark in his team’s third win in a row – on Monday evening the 23-year-old posted exactly 30 points. The Rockets lost for the 15th time in a row and still hold after 17 games with only one win of the season.

In the Eastern Conference, the Chicago Bulls’ 77-109 against the Indiana Pacers ended the pair skating at the top. The Brooklyn Nets are now alone ahead after a 117: 112 with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Meanwhile, the NBA has suspended a game against LeBron James, who hit center Isaiah Stewart with his fist in the face in the Los Angeles Lakers encounter at the Detroit Pistons on Sunday. The superstar missed his team’s guest appearance at the New York Knicks. Stewart has to sit out twice. Bleeding in the face, he had wanted to attack James and had to be held back more than once. Both opponents were excluded. Lakers and Pistons meet again on Sunday in Los Angeles.
