The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council has approved an amount of 795,000 euros charged to the budget application to respond to the 21 requests that have been submitted.

In a press release, the Councilor for Community Welfare and Public Services, José Ángel Martín Bethencourt, explained that “with the rescue of these 21 licenses, along with 40 more revocations, the ratio required in the Municipal Ordinance is reached.”

This ratio is established at 732 licenses, 3.5 units per thousand inhabitants.

Thus, the Corporation complies with the recommended values based on the population.

Each holder will have compensation of 36,000 euros.

According to the rules that regulate the procedure, those who have the municipal license and the authorization in force at the time of submitting the application may benefit from the rescue.

On August 7, 2019, the order to initiate the file was signed considering the need to initiate a new procedure to manage the rescue, approving new bases and opening a new call that has been settled with the fulfillment of the ratio required.
