Scandal over Los Angeles mansion party that ended in shooting

Los Angeles United States

One dead and two gunshot wounded left early this Tuesday a shooting in a fiesta private in which hundreds of people gathered in a mansion north of Berverly Hills despite the ban on large gatherings due to the coronavirus emergency in California.

Chris Ramírez, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), told local media that emergency services responded to a call after midnight at a mansion on the famous Mulholland Drive, where they found a three people shot.

A video posted on social media captured the sounds of at least six shots initials, followed by eight more. The images show that the people who attended the party continued as if nothing had happened after the first shots.

However, two minutes later a barrage of gunfire can be heard and people start screaming and running and trying to find safe places to hide.

Ramírez explained that the police had received several calls from neighbors on Monday afternoon complaining about the party, the noise and the cars that were blocking the road. Officers only imposed traffic tickets, and let the party go on at the three-story mansion.

Images Local channels showed dozens of people on the terraces and in the pool area dancing, without masks and without respecting social distance.

Coronavirus in California

Los Angeles continues to be the focus of contagion in California, which ranks first in the country for infections with more than half a million. However, the county health authorities warned this Monday of a small advance. “Simply put, closing the bars worked,” said Barbara Ferrer, director of the Department of Health.

“Limiting indoor restaurant dining and moving the operations of various businesses and institutions outdoors also worked,” he added.

However, Ferrer warned that “we still have a long way to go to reduce community transmission.”

The party organizer, who identified himself as Kenny, told NBC Channel 4 that the meeting was for his friends, and that the masks were available, and the guests had their temperatures taken.

Aerial footage revealed that there was a food truck in the mansion’s parking lot and multiple high-end vehicles could be seen, including Lamborghinis and a Rolls Royce.

The identity of the deceased has not been disclosed. No person has been arrested so far.
