Magdeburg (dpa / sa) – Saxony-Anhalt’s Education Minister Marco Tullner (CDU) wants to continue corona tests at schools for two weeks at the beginning of the new school year. “We have been testing all students twice a week for months. The general hygiene plan, which we have been working with for more than a year, has proven itself,” said Tullner on Tuesday. Caution should also be exercised at the beginning of the coming school year.
The schools want to have regular lessons in the coming school year as well. The Conference of Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder (KMK) recently agreed on this. “We should now do everything together to ensure that the infection rate continues to decline,” said Tullner. Then the questions about distance learning or alternating instruction did not arise.
All students in Saxony-Anhalt are currently being tested twice a week. This should continue until the end of the school year on July 21, as a spokesman for the Ministry of Education said. The new school year begins in Saxony-Anhalt at the beginning of September.
