Scientists called a safe portion of alcohol

Safe alcohol happens. American scientists have called a safe for health rate of alcohol, writes MIA “Russia Today”.

And this portion does not exceed 100 grams of ethyl alcohol per week. Otherwise, if the rate is exceeded, a person leaves the category of “healthy”.

Scientists at Cambridge University have studied the health of more than 600 thousand people from 19 countries. Subjects were divided by the number of consumed alcohol into several groups:

drinking a week not more than 100 gr. ethyl alcohol,
drinking a week from 100 to 200 grams. ethyl alcohol,
drinking a week from 200 to 350 grams. ethyl alcohol,
drinking more than 350 grams. alcohol per week.
According to the results of the data, scientists found a healthy rate of alcohol consumption – it is not more than 100 gr. of ethyl alcohol per week. Exceeding this norm leads to a risk of heart attack and diseases of the cardiovascular system.

But what is useful for drinking alcohol? As it turned out, taking alcohol in small doses helps the brain to clear itself of “garbage”, preventing the occurrence and development of inflammatory processes, helps to get rid of toxins. Biologists published the results of their research in the journal Scientific Reports.

“As a rule, prolonged intake of large amounts of alcohol harms the work of the central nervous system, but does not help it. On the other hand, we managed to show that small doses of alcohol are beneficial to brain health, since they help him cleanse himself of “garbage,” said Maiken Nedergaard of the University of Rochester, USA.

Also, scientists begin to agree with the argument that the disturbances in the brain responsible for brainwashing systems can lead to massive death of neurons and the development of Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and other neurodegenerative diseases.
