In the US, scientists from the Indian University in Bloomington found in space the so-called "nuclear" pasta. This is a theoretical substance – nuclear paste (nuclear pasta), which is formed in the bowels of neutron stars.
The results of the study were presented to the public on the pages of the publication Science News. The article says that this substance can be the most durable substance in the entire universe. It is one of the forms of a degenerate gas and is formed in the inner layers of the crust of neutron stars between the surface and the quark-gluon plasma. The substance consists of various subatomic particles, and it itself is a transitional state of matter. The density of the substance is not very high, but the protons are able to overcome the forces of mutual repulsion and form unstable structures that resemble macaroni and lasagne sheets immersed in the liquid phase of neutrons.
Scientists have tried to stretch a nuclear paste using computer modeling, but as it turned out, this substance is much stronger than any known analogue today. While the existence of this super-strong substance has not been proven by experts at the official level, but they do not doubt that this will happen in the near future.
