Psychopaths are not able to understand the experiences of others, but they can seem very charming and have good abilities to manipulate others. These are the conclusions of the researchers of the American Yale University, published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
According to scientists, psychopaths do not have the ability to objectively assess the condition of surrounding people, but this property is the basis of social communication. At the same time, they can appreciate other people’s thoughts if they are intentionally asked to do so.
A conducted study using a computer game showed that psychopaths begin to understand the moods of other people not because they want it. Understanding of others is possible when the psychopath has a purpose to achieve something.
