Professors of Cambridge University, one of the most authoritative and oldest scientific institutions in England, decided to find out the mechanism of appearance empathy and revealed the connection of genes and the ability to sympathize. At the same time, the Cambridge team cooperated with the workers of the company 23andME, engaged in genetic research. Results of the study on communication empathy and a person’s sex were placed in a journal Translational Psychiatry . Using data from over 46 thousand clients of the genetic company – and besides that, DNA samples provided by buyers on a voluntary basis – professionals from Cambridge managed to find three interesting features related to the development and change in the level empathy in people. These same people flooded the questionnaires, according to which it was possible to evaluate the so-called coefficient empathy (EQ). Then the professionals compared the acquired data. As a result, it was possible to determine that 10% of the differences in the level empathy were associated with genes. According to scientists, these figures are serious. According to Dr. Simon Baron-Cohen, the fact that some of the differences in the level empathy is linked to the genes of a person, helps to understand, including people with autism, who hardly imagine the thoughts and feelings of others. In addition, English scientists have confirmed the validity of at least early studies that empathize women are no less inclined than men. Also on the level empathy a man is affected by male and female hormones.
