In the future, users of the chat program will be able to download content already deleted from the chat, such as pictures, GIFS or videos, from the WhatsApp servers at a later date. However, this is only possible if the corresponding file has already been deleted from the file path in which WhatsApp saves files. So far, WhatsApp’s approach to storing files has been significantly different: media that has not been downloaded could only be loaded up to 30 days after it was created. However, if the user had already downloaded the file, WhatsApp deleted the file immediately – a subsequent loading was therefore not possible. That changes now.
