SACRAMENTO, California – Faced with the constant increase in the price of gasoline, Uber, in collaboration with Hertz, launches a program through which some drivers could obtain a Tesla by paying weekly rent.
Who Qualifies?
Drivers who meet the following criteria are eligible to rent a Tesla car with Hertz:
- Have made at least 150 trips with Uber
- Maintain a minimum rating of 4.85
- Be eligible to take passenger trips with Uber

How much?
According to the official Uber site, the weekly cost of the vehicle is $334 per week.
What models are available to lease?
The models may vary from city to city, however, the program has the following lines:
- 2021 Tesla Model 3 Standard Plus
- 2022 Tesla Model 3 Standard Plus
- 2021 Tesla Model 3 Long Range
- 2022 Tesla Model 3 Long Range
In addition, drivers who qualify to lease a Tesla could also receive other benefits, such as the “Zero Emissions” incentive.
What is the “Zero Emission” incentive?
All-electric vehicle (EV) drivers earn an extra $1 on each Uber ride (up to $4,000 a year), according to information on Uber’s website.
Another benefit is that drivers who use a Tesla to provide ride-sharing service could save an average of $50 to $100 per week, depending on the current cost of gasoline.
