Serge Ibaka agrees to join the Los Angeles Clippers

Another of the bombs of this free agency, comes from the hand of Serge Ibaka. As Shams Charania has just reported from The Athletic, the Spanish national has reached an agreement to join the Los Angeles Clippers.

The contract will be for two seasons and $ 19 million, with a player option for the second year. Ibaka joins the renewal of Marcus Morris, and it comes at the perfect time for the Los Angeles franchise, which has just lost Motrezl Harrell and JaMychal Green. They will be a perfect complement under the ring, with another international like Ivica Zubac.

The pivot had sounded in recent days to join the Nets of his friend Kevin Durant, the Lakers, the Rockets, and even his renewal with the Raptors, for whom he was a priority, was not ruled out. Finally he will meet Kawhi Leonard again, his fellow championship in Toronto.

Ibaka will contribute all his seniority to a dressing room that apparently had problems last season. From the sporting point of view, your contribution will also be more than significant. We’re talking about a two-time leader in the league’s blocks, and a three-time member of an All-Defensive NBA quintet. Last season, Ibaka averaged 15.4 points, 8.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists, with 51 percent shooting from the field and 38 percent from 3-pointers.
