The extended Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace debuted in Europe in the spring of 2017, and the start of deliveries to Russia was originally planned for 2018, but it did not work out. Nevertheless, such a crossover will appear here: in the Rosstandart database, a Vehicle Type Approval (OTTS) for a long Tiguan with five or seven seats has appeared.
Recall that, compared with the base model, the crossover wheelbase is extended by 106 mm, to 2787 mm. In addition, the rear overhang has been increased, the shape of the side glazing has been changed, and as a result, the Tiguan Allspace is even slightly longer than the sister Skoda Kodiaq: 4701 versus 4697 mm. In Russia, the crossover is certified in two versions – with a 2.0 TSI gasoline turbo engine with a capacity of 180 or 220 hp. Both have a seven-speed DSG robot and four-wheel drive.
The market intersection with Kodiak will be minimal, because Skoda has a range of engines with a capacity of no more than 180 forces. But more importantly, the localization of the elongated Tiguan is not planned: the cars will be delivered to us from Mexico, so they will be more expensive than the similar Kodiaks of the Nizhny Novgorod assembly (from 2 million 93 thousand for the 180-strong version). Prices will be announced later, Russian dealers expect Tiguan Allspace in the coming months.
