Sevilla to Face Roma in UEFA Europa League Final for European Football Betting Glory

Budapest.- This Wednesday two historical clubs of European football, although not as part of the absolute elite, will play the UEFA Europa League Final: the all-powerful Sevilla against José Mourinho’s Roma

Sevilla, king of the UEFA Cup/Europa League, will try this Wednesday in Budapest to add his seventh crown in the competition, while ‘la loba’ from Italy fights to debut in the competition.

The Andalusians have become the absolute dominators of the tournament in the last 17 years, in which they won the continental championship andn 2006, 2007, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2020, with full of victories in the disputed finals.

On the other hand the Roma was only in contention for the title in 1991, when the finals were still played over two legs, and lost to Inter after losing 2-0 at the Giuseppe Meazza and winning only 1-0 at the Olímpico.

The winner will take over from the German Eintracht Frankfurt, who beat Scottish Rangers last year in a penalty shootout (5-4) after finishing the match and extra time with a draw at one goal.

If Sevilla wins, it will return dominance of the tournament under the name of the Europa League to Spanish football, which has won eight of the thirteen editions played so far with the victories of Atlético de Madrid (3) and Villarreal (1) plus the of the Andalusian team (4).

Throughout history, under the different names of the competition, Spain has accumulated thirteen titles, four more than England and Italy, and Germany is fourth with seven.

The greatest prize and motivation for the teams that compete in the Europa League is the possibility of playing the Champions League -as seeded- the following tournament, as a prize for victory.

Seville and Rome will not qualify for the Champions League through the table of their respective leagues. The Andalusians could reach a maximum of 7th place in La Liga, while the Romans will be out of the Top 4 in Serie A.
