Sharjah Media City “Shams” organized a blood donation campaign at its headquarters, on the occasion of the “International Blood Donor Day”, which the world celebrates on June 13 every year.
During a community atmosphere, the campaign – which was launched under the slogan “We take initiative to make a change… we donate to save a life” – was attended by Dr. Khaled Omar Al Midfa, President of the city, Shehab Al Hammadi, director of “Shams”, and a number of free zone leaders, and employees who came to donate to patients in need.
The campaign was organized in cooperation with the Emirates Health Services Corporation (Sharjah Blood Transfusion and Research Center).
Dr. Al Midfa presented the audience to donate blood, stressing that donating blood is a good habit that reflects the extent of interdependence, tolerance and humanity, in order to save thousands of patients and needy people in the UAE and the world. Pointing out that «Shams» has an integrated program for social responsibility and is always keen to participate in events and events that benefit the various segments of society, which works to make its environment more generous.
“I thank all attendees and donors who participated in this initiative, which attests to upholding the banner of humanity, and confirms that the UAE is a global homeland for good, love and brotherhood,” he said.
