The local police inspector, MP Singh, told Times of India, Tuesday (10/26/2021) that police found a Delhi based company registered with PAN (Permanent Account Number)—in Indonesia known as the Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP) on behalf of Pratap Singh.
The FIR, Singh said, would be filed based on further evidence gathered.
Singh had received a call from the income tax department on 19 October 2021, asking him to be present at his office. When he arrived, he was presented with a tax collection notice of Rs3.47 crore.
“I have been driving an electronic rickshaw for the last four years and earn Rs 400-500 a day, which is barely enough to feed five family members. I can’t even think of an amount like that,” he said.
