The Ministry of Defense of the aggressor country reported that on Sunday, June 26, the head of the department, Sergei Shoigu, visited the command posts of the Russian military in the occupied territories of Ukraine.
This was stated in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. The aggressor’s department claims that the purpose of the trip is to inspect the Russian group of troops involved in the war in Ukraine.
It is not clear from the information released by the Russian Defense Ministry whether Shoigu visited Ukraine or checked the military group in Russia, but Russian propaganda media claim that the minister conducted an inspection in the occupied territories of Donbass.
The video released by the Russian Defense Ministry shows how the delegation with Shoigu gets out of the helicopter, then holds a meeting, after which they award the occupiers with medals.
At the command posts, Shoigu allegedly listened to the reports of the commanders on the current situation and actions of the RF Armed Forces in the main operational areas.
Shoigu also handed out awards to the Russian occupiers for “heroism and selflessness in the performance of combat missions.”
In the photo with Shoigu, Colonel General Gennady Zhidko lit up, which confirms the information of CIT investigators that he is the commander of Russian troops in Ukraine.
Also in the video of the Ministry of Defense next to Shoigu are the head of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff, Sergei Rudskoy, and Deputy Defense Minister Yunus-Bek Yevkurov.
At the same time, Colonel General Alexander Lapin and Army General Sergei Surovikin, commanders of the central and southern groups, were not seen on the video.
According to British intelligence, the commander of the Southern Military District, General of the Army Alexander Dvornikov, was fired in Russia, and now the command of the Southern Military District is likely to be transferred to Colonel General Surovikin. He is directly responsible for the combat zone in the Donbass.
Surovikin has been the commander of the Aerospace Forces of the Russian Federation since 2017.
Shoigu’s trip took place against the backdrop of the advance of Russian troops in the Luhansk region and the occupation of some settlements on its territory.
