Showers and storms are expected to continue in the east during the night and on Wednesday

SLOVAKIA. Meteorologists expect intense showers and storms in Slovakia on Tuesday.

They can be accompanied by heavy downpour, strong gusty wind and hail. The Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMÚ) informs about this on the social network.

“On Tuesday, we are gradually expecting showers and storms, especially in western and central Slovakia, in the east, especially in Spiš and Gemeri,” the institute announced. According to him, the conditions for the formation of storms are still behind the front, so in places there will be more waves of showers and storm.

“At night and on Wednesday, showers and thunderstorms will occur, especially in the east and in the Banskobystrica region. Occasionally, they can also be intense,” added SHMÚ, adding that the probability is lower than on Tuesday.

The 2nd degree storm warning is currently valid in the districts of Brezno, Detva, Poltár, Rimavská Sobota, Revúca and Lučenec.

A level 1 warning has been declared in western and central Slovakia and in the eastern part of the country.
