Sidra Medical Center launches a campaign to promote mental health in children and adolescents

Sedra Medical Center, a specialist in providing health care for women and children, has launched an awareness campaign to promote mental health for children and adolescents that will continue over the coming months. The Pediatric and Adolescent Mental Health Clinic at Sidra Medical Center, a member of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, will visit several schools and participate in various community events to raise awareness about mental health issues. These events include the 4th Annual Symposium on Mental Health Services, various workshops and symposia as well as participation in Qatar Foundation academies to share knowledge and share experiences on mental health for children and adolescents. Mental health care is one of the basic services provided by Sidra Medical Center as part of its policy to provide care for children and adolescents. The Center’s goal is to promote awareness of adolescent depression. Teachers, school counselors and others with the symptoms of depression and treatment available in Qatar. School counselors can refer depressed students to the Pediatric and Adolescent Mental Health Clinic at Sidra Medical Center by filling out the Center referral form. Community outreach efforts at Sidra Medical Center are in line with the efforts of the Mental Health Clinic for Children and Adolescents, the only clinic in the Middle East that provides comprehensive services for children and adolescents, such as therapeutic, surgical and intensive care services, assessment and recommendations for mental disorders such as mood disorders, Suicide and behavioral problems and adaptation to chronic medical conditions. ;
