“Slippages” have been noted in recent years in some bars, cafes and restaurants in Lucciana and Saint-Florent – but not only – which led the prefect of Haute-Corse to sound the alarm and summon the owners and managers of these establishments “for a contradictory interview prior to any administrative closure decision!” In a press release the prefect “firmly condemns such irresponsible behavior and recalls the necessary respect for barrier gestures and the rules of social distancing.”

However, these last evenings, at Lucciana, Saint-Florent and in other municipalities, the police have been led to observe irresponsible behavior in several establishments and to report violations of health rules.
The heads of the establishments concerned will be summoned to the prefecture from next week for a contradictory interview prior to any decision to close the administration.
The fight against the spread of Covid-19 remains the priority to ensure the safety of all and prevent the saturation of hospital capacities.
The Prefect strongly condemns such dangerous behavior and recalls that the lack of vigilance of some who do not allow the respect of barrier gestures risks compromising the recovery long awaited by professionals.
The virus is still circulating in the country and it is important to keep the good reflexes during the deconfinement in order to avoid any new containment measure which would be detrimental to the tourist season. “
