Indian auto giant Mahindra announced the start of sales of the converted version of the Korean off-road SUV SsangYong Rexton of the last generation. The novelty, dubbed Alturas, will go to dealers on November 26, 2018 at a price of 2,938,000 rupees (2,167,000 rubles at the current exchange rate).
Compared to the “donor”, the converted Mahindra Alturas SUV has a different grille, its own emblem and ground clearance that has grown to 244 mm. Besides him, pronounced off-road qualities of the car emphasized a tougher and energy-intensive suspension.
The lineup of the model in the Indian market will be presented by the unopposed 2.2-liter diesel with 180 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque, which is paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission from Mercedes-Benz. All-wheel drive will be available as an option.
Recall that the Indian concern Mahindra bought the Korean brand SsangYong in 2011. Since then, he has been releasing his versions of SsangYong cars for his consumers.
