Telegram has just shown the way, and now Snapchat is following suit. The social media and chat app is the latest service to launch a premium paid version of its app. Snapchat+ is a $3.99 per month subscription service that adds several new features. Below that, the option to see who’s reviewed their stories and the ability to change the app’s icon.
The press release also mentions that Snapchat+ will offer a “collection of exclusive, experimental, and pre-release features.” This includes, for example, the option to pin a friend as a BFF in the chat area. Unfortunately, paying customers also have to do without the option of deactivating advertising in the app.
Snapchat+ will launch in the US, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Other countries are to follow in the coming months.
