Frankfurt / Main (dpa / lhe) – Is André Silva’s departure just the beginning? After the Portuguese move to RB Leipzig, Eintracht Frankfurt threatens the loss of other important players. Martin Hinteregger aroused desires with his strong performance with Austria at the European Football Championship. “My advisor has informed me that there are inquiries, not only from Italy. Serie A remains my big dream,” said the defense chief of the Hessian Bundesliga club in an interview with “krone.at”.
Whether the crowd favorite will actually leave Eintracht is still in the stars. Because there is much to be said for Hinteregger to remain. “A lot would have to happen before I leave Frankfurt. I am extremely grateful to the club, where I found my strength again,” emphasized Hinteregger.
Filip Kostic is also in great demand. The Serb is currently associated with a move to Italy. Above all, AS Roma with José Mourinho wants the 28-year-old wing racer, who still has a contract with the Hessen until the summer of 2023. The new Eintracht coach Oliver Oliver Glasner recently announced at his presentation in Frankfurt that he wanted to fight for the whereabouts of all the important players.
If this does not work, as with Silva, in the case of Kostic, there would at least be a successor in Steven Zuber. The Swiss played a strong European Championship, but has not yet got past Kostic at the club.
Meanwhile, after Silva’s departure, Eintracht is working flat out to sign a successor. The change of the Portuguese could not be prevented. “André Silva has done great things for Eintracht Frankfurt over the past few years. Unfortunately, the change in this transfer period was unavoidable as the player had a corresponding option in the contract,” said sports director Markus Krösche.
Rafael Santos Borré could follow in Silva’s footsteps. According to information from the TV channel Sky, the change of the Colombian striker is already perfect. The striker is said to be coming on a free transfer from the Argentine top club River Plate Buenos Aires, for whom he has scored 56 goals in 149 games. The 25-year-old is currently in the semi-finals of the Copa America with Colombia.
