Soccer – PSG loses to Stade Rennes again – Sport

Paris (AP) – The French soccer champions Paris Saint-Germain also lost their second league game this season against Stade Rennes.

The star ensemble around Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé lost 0: 2 (0: 1) at home. Toko Ekambi (45th minute) and Arnaud Kalimuendo (48th) scored for the guests, who had already won the first leg 1-0.

For league leaders Paris, who were eliminated by FC Bayern Munich in the Champions League round of 16, it was their fourth defeat of the season in French Ligue 1. Nevertheless, they still have a nine-point advantage over second-placed RC Lens. Rennes improved to fifth.

PSG struggled in the offensive game, and guest keeper Steve Mandanda was good in the game. Ekambi deservedly put the dedicated guests ahead. Even after the break, the Parisians were not always awake, and the second goal they conceded allowed themselves to be countered. After a cross from Lesley Ugochukwu, Kalimuendo only had to put his foot out. Messi & Co rarely managed to create clear chances as the game progressed. The best was awarded to Marco Verratti in the 84th minute after preparatory work by Mbappé.
