The Ballon d’Or will be awarded on November 29 in Paris, after a year without a winner, France Football magazine announced on Wednesday, organizer of this distinction rewarding the best player of the year.
The ceremony, presented in particular by Didier Drogba, will take place at the Théâtre du Châtelet on Monday, November 29 at 8:30 p.m. The men’s and women’s Ballon d’Ors will be awarded there, as well as the Kopa trophy for best youngster and the Yachine trophy for best goalkeeper.
The list of nominees on October 8
The list of nominees for these different prizes will be unveiled on Friday, October 8 from 5.30 p.m. on the channels and networks of the L’Équipe group, the organizers said in a press release.
Lionel Messi, six-time winner, and Megan Rapinoe are the holders, after their coronation in 2019. The following year, the distinction was not awarded after a season marked by the Covid-19.
