Following the example of # 100FotografiperBergamo, solidarity initiative that managed to raise € 726,000 in ten days for the Hospital of Bergamo (Italy), photographers Jordi Pizarro and Eloisa d’Orsi have promoted #fotoscontralacovid, a charity campaign that places 150 photographers of Spain and Latin America facing the pandemic. Without cameras, yes, but armed with some of their snapshots to raise funds for Doctors Without Borders (MSF).

The campaign, which started on Thursday, April 23 and ends on Sunday, May 17, includes classic documentary photography, photojournalism, creative documentary, as well as different genres of art photography. A very wide assortment in which authors such as Colita, Gervasio Sánchez, Joan Fontcuberta, Laia Abril, Samuel Aranda or Pep Bonet, among many others. All of them have transferred the rights to some images that can be purchased for 100 euros in a 20×30 cm format.

On the menu, raw Afghan souvenirs from the Peruvian Moses Saman, postcards of Chiapas from Fred Ramos, desolate landscapes of Alessandro Vincenzi, Chiaroscuros Tenerife Baptist Comfort, the amazon seen by Eloisa d’Orsi, still lifes of Laia Abril, Colita’s historic “El Gallo del Prat” … A photographic world map that uses art to fight the coronavirus and face the pandemic.

At the moment more than 30,000 euros, and all the money will be managed by the NGO based in Barcelona Photo, which will be in charge of delivering it (minus the costs of production and shipping of € 15) to Doctors without borders.
