It’s not clear who exactly came up with all the cameos we can see in Space Jam: A New Legacy. In addition to lead actor LeBron James, the film is full of cameos from acquaintances and media figures.
There were many remarkable moments in between. For example, we saw the sexually repressed nuns from The Devils from 1971. And the Droogs – who raped and murdered women – also passed by in A Clockwork Orange.
Fans are now quite critical of exactly those choices. Because in addition to all those well-known figures, the Looney Tunes also play a major role in the film. And one who is missing is Pepé le Pew, who, according to Warner Bros. could potentially be seen as a racist character.
Fans respond to this, who believe that a lot less remarkable choices could and should have been made:
I have zero issue with dropping Pepe Le Pew from Space Jam: New Legacy, but I could have done without my kids seeing Pennywise in a dozen or more shots. 🤷🏻♂️

Idk man the literal rapists from Clockwork Orange being in the film is stupid as fuck LMAO and I love that movie but they got no business being in Space Jam if they gonna remove Pepe Le Pew

Warner Bros: We must take out Pepe Le Pew in the Space Jam movie.
Also Warner Bros: Let’s make sure to include the droogs from A Clockwork Orange in the new Space Jam

I am so fucking glad everyone is taking shit about Space Jam 2. Fuck them for getting rid of of Pepe Le Pew, that was some real stupid bullshit. Their stupid virtue signalling has been called out along with the movie just being shit in general. Makes me so happy.

Space Jam: A New Legacy is a special experiment, which is amusing to watch, but also very much like an advertisement for all the different films and series that Warner Bros. has made in recent years.
