Krefeld Olympic gold medal winner Aline Rotter-Focken is given a special honor. A sports hall in Krefeld is named after her.
The home gym of Krefeld’s Olympic wrestling champion Aline Rotter-Focken is to be named after her. The successful athlete trained in the club Ksv Germania Krefeld 1891 EV whose sports hall “Steinstraße” will soon bear her name.
A celebratory ceremony is planned for Thursday, October 13, at which Mayor Frank Meyer and the former wrestler will officially rename the building “Aline-Rotter-Focken-Halle”.
A corresponding sign in the hall is to be unveiled on this day in the presence of representatives from sports, politics and administration. The city of Krefeld is thus honoring Aline Rotter-Focken and her outstanding sporting achievements, the city’s press office said.
