The Guadalajara City Council has prepared a special programming to commemorate International Book Day, with various activities that will take place in the ‘José Antonio Suárez de Puga’ municipal library, the Tragaluz room and the Buero Vallejo Auditorium Theater.

The library’s motto this year is ‘We are nature’in compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda, and especially with those aimed at protecting the world’s cultural and natural heritage.

For this reason, throughout this month of April the ‘Suárez de Puga’ activity is being carried out ‘Seed Library’, in collaboration with the Huerta Ecolenta collective, with the idea of ​​equating seeds with books, and thus encourage reading.

Also, in the lobby of the library, the activity ‘Here we sow readings’ is taking place every Monday morning or afternoon, a space to share readings by reading them aloud.

Also framed in the commemorative acts of International Book Day, Today Tuesday, April 18the pianist, composer and singer Sheila Blanco offers the concert ‘Singing to the poets of 27’, with a selection of poems by the best authors of this generation, at the Buero Vallejo Auditorium Theater, starting at 8:00 p.m.

He April 24, at 7:00 p.m., in the Tragaluz room, the book ‘Carmina’, by Jorge Moya, published by the Guadalajara City Council, is presented.

The institutional act will take place on Thursday, April 27, at 6:00 p.m., with the reading of the manifesto for Book Day in Castilla-La Mancha, by Óscar Martínez from Almans; the collective reading `We are nature´, in charge of the different clubs of the library, and the activity ‘Library of seeds’ will be explained.

The annexed towns are also celebrating International Book Day this month through the activities of the municipal library, led by the Magician Raferty, and his proposal ‘Argus, the library goblin’.
