Two adolescents, a 16-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy, were arrested by members of the Sucre State Police for illegal possession of a firearm and escape.
The capture of the young people was carried out in the Paseo de la Gracia de Dios de San Martín sector, in Bermúdez. The boy had escaped from the checkpoint area of the Autonomous Service for the Comprehensive Protection of Children and Adolescents of Sucre state (Sapinaes).
The troops found the two young people in a house in the area. Upon sighting the uniformed officers, both tried to escape, but they were surrounded by the agents, who searched the young woman and found a rudimentary firearm in a bag (poplar), which was loaded with a non-percussed caliber cartridge. 9mm and also a 50 mm caliber firearm cartridge without percussion.
Both were transferred, together with the evidence, to the Bermúdez Police Coordination Center, where they were fully identified and checked by the Integrated Police Information System (Siipol). The teenager was requested for having escaped from Sapinaes. Both were under the order of the 5th Prosecutor’s Office of the Public Ministry.
