Strike in Milan, metro, bus and train: timetable Friday 20 May

For Friday 20 May 2022, the Cub and Sgb trade unions have proclaimed a national general strike of all public and private sectors, to which the Cub Trasporti union has joined.

The subways are guaranteed for the whole day. There may be consequences on the service after 6pm. Buses, trams and trolley buses may not be guaranteed from 8.45am to 3pm and after 6pm.

“From 18.00 – writes Atm in a note – the regular service continues on the M1, M2 and M5 lines. The circulation on the M3 line is gradually suspended until the end of the service. More waiting at the bus, tram and trolley bus stops”.

The strike could have consequences on the funicular service from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm and from 7:30 pm at the end of the service.

Motivations of the trade union organization that proclaimed the strike

The strike was called “for the immediate ceasefire in Ukraine, its demilitarization with the immediate withdrawal of all armies; for the immediate freezing of the prices of all primary goods and services; for the release of contracts and wage increases and the reintroduction of the escalator; for the approval of a new structural plan for public housing which also provides for the reuse of disused public assets; against privatization policies; against direct, indirect and induced military expenditure and the allocation of related resources to school, public health, transport and guaranteed wages for the unemployed and underemployed; for the reduction of working hours with the same salary “.
