Strikes in Syria: French participation will be debated in the Assembly


This Sunday morning, Prime Minister Edouard Philippe invited all the leaders of the National Assembly and the Senate, the day after strikes in Syria coordinated by Paris, London and Washington.
A parliamentary debate has been scheduled in the Assembly on Monday from 17h.

The opportunity for MPs to speak, while several opposition figures have already criticized the French participation in Syria.
Jean-Luc Mélenchon, Marine Le Pen, or Laurent Wauquiez have denounced it. The Socialist Party, personalities like Alain Juppé and Xavier Bertrand, or the UDI support, on the other hand, this operation.

This Monday in the Assembly, Edouard Philippe should also detail the operations and diplomatic initiatives of France.
On the night Friday to Saturday, Paris, Washington and London conducted coordinated strikes in Syria. Three sites related to the chemical weapons program were targeted, in response to the alleged chemical attack in Douma last week, that Westerners attribute to the regime of Bashar al-Assad.
