The mobilization brought together nearly 200 people this morning, Saturday 24 April 2021, in Chartres (Eure-et-Loir).

Dressed in black, with dark or blood-red signs, the instruments at half mast, a silent walk was observed at the request of the collective Arts Vivants Ensemble 28, which has been occupying, since the end of March 2021, the Atelier à Spectacle de Vernouillet.

The artists of Eure-et-Loir, joined by supporters and yellow vests, demonstrated against the reform of unemployment insurance and demand an extension of the “white year”. Because according to them, if the cultural places will be able to open, the gauges will be limited and their activity, always impacted by the health crisis.

The artists did not make noise, as initially planned

The protesters marched in silence, deafening silence. And lay down on the ground, on Place Châtelet, where their bodies were drawn in chalk, like a morbid scene. The objective of this minute of silence: “it is a symbol, we had to assemble a large orchestra to claim joyfully and to demonstrate while visiting, the static gathering was banned by the prefecture, we decided to be silent”.
