The scholars focused on how long the women were outdoors and exposed to the sun from April to October. Women who spent about three hours in the sun were less likely to get breast cancer.

The results were these: 29% less in the age group up to 20 years, 36% less from 20 to 39 years, 26% from 40 to 59 years, so also in the age groups up to 74 years. According to the researchers, the credit for the decrease in risk is undoubtedly attributable to vitamin D. The sun has the effect of producing this substance in our body and is an anticancer.
