Suzuki will hold the world premiere of its new recreational vehicle in India in early July. Toyota will also be present at the unveiling: the car will be manufactured by their local plant, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), from August this year.
Known in its factory code name as YFG, the model was developed entirely by Suzuki for the same floorboard that also forms the basis of current S-Cross and Vitara crossovers, yet it promises to be completely unique.

Suzuki now offers mild hybrid and full hybrid powertrains for this platform, both from in-house development. Both drive technologies will be available for the newcomer, but with a significant twist: the full hybrid will not be a unit already known from the European Vita, but a drive supplied by Toyota. (The official statement contradicts local reports that both hybrid variants will be developed by Suzuki.)
And why is Toyota giving you one of the drive options? It’s very simple: the model will also be marketed as a Toyota, under the name HyRyder. You can watch the latter’s heraldic video below.

The statement, issued jointly by the two companies, confirms that the model will also be available on export markets. Europe is not specifically mentioned, but given that everything is available at the Suzuki plant in Esztergom for the production of the Global C platform, it is not unreasonable to hope that the new crossover will soon be available in Hungary.
Toyota and Suzuki signed a cooperation agreement back in 2017. As a result, Suzuki has introduced Across and Swace, which are re-labeled versions of the Toyota RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid and Toyota Corolla Touring Sports Hybrid.
