Sweden’s King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia will tour all of Sweden next year. The tour of the royal couple takes place in the context of the fiftieth anniversary of Carl Gustaf’s reign.

The Swedish court on Wednesday announced the first details about the celebration of the golden throne jubilee of the Swedish king. The official logo for the festive year was also unveiled.

In January, the anniversary year will be kicked off with a Swedish dinner at the Royal Palace in Stockholm. Representatives from all Swedish provinces have been invited to that dinner. From February to September, Carl Gustaf and Silvia will travel all over Sweden, from Malmö in the south to Lulea in the north.

Carl Gustaf will be on the throne for exactly fifty years on September 15, 2023. The golden jubilee will be celebrated on Friday 15 and Saturday 16 September.

The program includes a church service at the Royal Palace and an anniversary dinner on those days. On Saturday, the king and queen will also march through the capital Stockholm in a procession.
