Binge, the new SVOD platform, will adapt System Shock into a television series.

The service Binge adds a live-action adaptation of System Shock to its list of original programs for 2022 alongside the Driver series (Ubisoft) and Rubius Checkpoint (El Rubius). The series System Shock television will air exclusively on Binge which seeks to create high quality content for gamers. Other original projects are being negotiated with major players in the video game industry.

Stephen Kick and Larry Kuperman of Nightdive Studios will be the executive producers and Allan Ungar, Binge Content Director, will be the producer. “System Shock is an iconic franchise loved by gamers for over two decades, and a series that has helped redefine what it means to play an FPS“Said Allan Ungar. “We’re excited to bring the franchise “” and the genre “” to life by bringing System Shock to life on the small screen. System Shock in its original version was released in 1994 under the aegis of Looking Glass Studios (formerly LookingGlass Technologies) and Origin Systems. It is the subject of a full remake by Nightdive Studios. It plunges players into the Citadel in 2072, where an anonymous hacker awakens from a coma to be confronted by murderous robots, killer cyborgs, malicious mutants and a malicious AI named SHODAN who seeks to control Earth.
