“I learned a lot from her and her family,” said Victoria Villarroel, who met the star during an internship at Jenner Communications.
If you follow Kylie Jenner on Instagram, chances are you’ve stumbled upon Victoria Villarroel.
Villarroel, who now has over 1.6 million followers, has long been a part of Kylie Jenner’s inner circle, working as an assistant to the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star for several years. Amid new rumors about her departure, the 29-year-old set the record straight via her Instagram Story.
“I worked with Kylie for 5 years and she became one of my closest friends. We both decided it was time to grow up professionally without each other about a year ago. an! She is still one of my best friends and our relationship has only gotten stronger, ”she wrote. “Now let’s focus our time and energy on other things! There’s a lot going on in the world right now.”
As she explained to host Lexie Jiaras on the Girl Cult podcast, she split from the famous family last year to focus on her own journey.
On Girl Cult, Villarroel revealed that she started working for Jenner Communications over five years ago as an intern. At the time, she was studying visual communication at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles.
“I found this girl named Jen on Instagram by chance,” Villarroel recalls. “She posted a picture of her interns at the office and it looked nice. I was like, ‘I want to be an intern here!” So I messaged her on Instagram, but she didn’t. She had a personal blog, and I clicked on it, and she had an email. I emailed her, and she didn’t respond. So I tried again … and then, boom, she emailed me back. “
Soon after, Villarroel came for an interview and landed an internship.
“It was easy,” she says of the interview. “We just talked about me, about my experience [de stage] at Vogue, about what I want to do in the future. It’s a question of personality. We just got along. I am not a crazy person, I am trustworthy. We just hit it off. “
And the internship itself, which lasted about three months, was “a lot of fun,” she added. “I was just an intern, they had an office manager and everything. So it was basically about making sure the office was presentable if they had meetings or if they were running.”
“It was very simple, very basic internship stuff,” she added. “The only cool factor was that you were working for the family. That’s where I met Kylie.”
Villarroel finished his studies, then moved to Spain for a year. Upon her return to Los Angeles, she contacted Jenner Communications and was hired full time as an office manager. Her job, as she explains, was to “make sure the office was clean, receive packages, take phone calls, organize meetings.”
“I was there for about two or three weeks, then Kylie needed someone,” she recalls. “I was already employed, so it was easy. They knew me, they knew who I was, the girls knew who I was – it was easy to just have me for work.”
She was then promoted to personal assistant – which meant shopping and scheduling Jenner’s personal appointments, like manicures and spray tans – and finally an executive assistant.
“[En tant qu’assistante de direction], you basically do the programming, the travel, the events, “she says.” Like the Met Gala, you have to coordinate everything. Or any appearance she has, the awards show, the stylists, making all her appointments and keeping her agenda up to date. “
“I learned a lot from her and her family,” Villarroel said. “They’re all well organized, for sure. They’re an inspiration.”
Over the years, Villarroel has admitted that there are times when he falls short.
“I messed around with Kylie,” she recalls. “The first time we traveled together, I had to pick her up to go to the airport, and I didn’t listen to my alarm clock. I never sleep without an alarm clock, and it happened the first time I did. traveled with her, so she had to make her own way to the airport. It made me so anxious, but she didn’t care. “
According to a source Kylie would have “thanked” Victoria because she was much more beautiful and natural than she. However, Victoria repeats everywhere that she has resigned.
