In London, Manchester, Edinburgh and Cambridge, new jobs are to be created in the software area and in the further development of artificial intelligence as well as in areas such as marketing or video production. In addition, the group announced for the next three years 10 million pounds (around 11.6 million euros) investments in education and training programs.
The pandemic has boosted demand for Amazon’s delivery services, the company had already hired hundreds of thousands of new employees last year and is now the second largest US employer behind retail giant Walmart. At the end of 2020, Amazon had around 1.3 million employees worldwide.
