Team from Hanover wins the European Tram Championship 2022

After a two-year Corona break, the Tram EM was scheduled for the weekend in Leipzig. Teams from 19 countries took part. The team from Hanover got the win!

Trams and their drivers from all over Europe gathered in Leipzig on Saturday (May 21) to take part in the Tram European Championship 2022. A team from Hanover was right in the middle: Jessica Schlueter and Andreas Brucks from the Üstra.

In several disciplines such as the “Perfect Stop”, performing an emergency stop or the entertaining “Tram Billiards”, Jessica and Andreas left all other tram teams behind and took first place with 3,450 points. The team from Lyon took second place with 3,380 points and third place went to the Berlin team with 3,230 points.

A total of 25 teams from 19 countries took part in the Tram European Championships in Leipzig, which had to be canceled for the last two years due to the corona virus. The venue for the Tram European Championship 2023 has also already been decided: the Romanian city of Oradea.
