Technical assistance and supplies for strawberry producers in Cauca

Through the project ‘Strengthening the Strawberry Productive Chain in the Department of Cauca’, the strawberry growers will be benefited with more than 3,100 million pesos. The The support strategy is led by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, which benefits 430 families with technical assistance, adequate fertilization plans, pest control and delivery of inputs.


The initiative will have an investment of more than 3,100 million pesos, obtained through the General System of Royalties, and impacts 4 municipalities of Cauca. The Secretary of Agriculture and Rural Development Yesid Paz, referred to this; “The execution and implementation of this productive project allows us to grow, recovering from the difficulties that have arisen in market terms with the pandemic and weather conditions.”


Currently, the project is in the delivery phase in the different beneficiary municipalities, among them Puracé led by Víctor Raúl Bonilla, who said, “We received the first elements and supplies that will be part of the strengthening of the strawberry production chain. The investment of resources that are aimed at the most vulnerable families managed to reach the end of the term ”.


In turn, Dora Milena Coqué, beneficiary of the municipality of Sotará indicated; “The inputs came to us at the right time to project ourselves as farmers of the Department and thus strengthen us in the agricultural issue of men and women of our district.”
