On the sidelines of the Strasbourg stage of the Digital InPulse innovation competition, supported by Huawei, the French management of the Chinese telecom giant (197,000 employees worldwide) unveiled its calendar for its ambitions in France. The manufacturer had indeed announced in 2020 that it wanted to build its first factory outside China in Alsace. The industrial site will manufacture components for 4G and 5G technologies for European markets. Huawei specifies that the administrative process has come to an end with positive feedback regarding the building permit. The group is now looking for its partner company for the construction of its 52,000 m² in the Brumath business area (Bas-Rhin). The Chinese group is betting on the start of construction in 2023. It plans to spend 200 million euros in this project, which will eventually create nearly 500 jobs and a billion euros in production value per year.
