Telefónica and Microsoft are once again moving in the SME segment, with new offers and discounts. Both companies, within their strategic alliance, have launched an initiative by which small and medium-sized companies that are clients of Fusion Companies and that still do not use this type of tools will be able to acquire with a discount of 25% for one year the Microsoft 365 Business Basic and Business Standard licenses best suited for your business.
It is the first time that a promotion of these characteristics has been launched to help labor mobility and teleworking through Microsoft 365, one of the flagship products of the North American group.
This agreement also includes a 10% discount on Surface Pro 7 devices (256 GB, i5, 8 GB) when contracted with Microsoft 365. Both partners seek to help SMEs adapt digital solutions to their operations. A scenario that is not always possible, due to, among other reasons, the tight budgets that these companies have or the lack of technical profiles specialized in the latest technology.
Both partners believe that one of the priorities of Spanish SMEs is job mobility and flexibility, and the current situation caused by the pandemic has accelerated this situation. Fernando Asín, Head of Marketing and IT Business Development at Telefónica Empresas, points out that the reason for this announcement is to fulfill the commitment that the teleco made during the health crisis to support SMEs.
Emilio Martínez, director of SMEs at Microsoft in Spain, ensures that the company continues to work hand in hand with companies to provide collaboration and productivity tools so that they can perform their tasks remotely and securely. “Microsoft 365, and especially Teams, has been a key piece to transfer their daily activity to the digital world and this commercial promotion, added by Surface, is the perfect opportunity for those companies that need to take an additional step in their digital transformation,” he says .
This announcement is part of a broad strategy for Spanish SMEs. With this objective in mind, Telefónica and Microsoft announced in July a differential advisory and migration service to the environment cloud in Spanish, through two projects: Azure by Acens Servers and Azure by Acens Projects.
The first makes it easier for SMEs to choose the most appropriate servers according to their computing needs and budget. The second allows companies that already have a cloud environment to access greater features or implement more complex work systems, such as VDI virtual desktops. To strengthen the commitment, the companies have the support of the technical team of Acens, the services subsidiary cloud of Telefónica.
The new initiative is part of the expanded strategic collaboration agreement presented by Telefónica and Microsoft to boost the country’s competitiveness announced in February. This agreement, promoted through Telefónica Tech, the operator unit that brings together cloud, cybersecurity and IoT / Big Data services, contemplates, among others, the development of joint business plans in the countries where the company operates.
Last February, both companies announced an expansion of their strategic alliance that included the establishment, by Microsoft, of the opening of a region of Data Centers in Spain to help accelerate the digital transformation of companies and public administrations.
