Tenoch Huerta and Yalitza Aparicio dance cumbia at Sundance 2023 festival – El Financiero

“¡Mexican Power at Sundance!” Eugenio Derbez wrote on Instagram, next to a photograph where he is accompanied by Yalitza Aparicio and Tenoch Huerta, who went viral on social networks by dancing cumbia at the film festival in Utah, United States.

The Mexicans were present at the Sundance Film Festival 2023after last year it was carried out completely virtually due to the increase in cases of COVID-19 due to the Omicron variant.

This year the event was held in a hybrid format at The Latinx House to present around one hundred films. Various celebrities such as Anne Hathaway and Michael J. Fox, star of Back to the Futurewho presented his return to the screens with a documentary about his life.

Eugenio Derbez shared with Aparicio and Huerta what he called “one of the joyful moments of this trip.” The Mexican comedian came to present his film Radicalhe reappeared in public without his arm sling, which accompanied him for several months after a serious accident with a virtual reality game.

In a meeting during the second day of festival activities, the protagonist of Roma and the actor of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever They decided to show off on the track to the rhythm of cumbia. In addition, Tenoch danced the theme in the center good cumbia.

The moment went viral on social networks, as it was posted on Instagram by several attendees: “A little dance with Namor”, wrote the artist Julio Salgado; “flying high with Yalitza Aparicio”, added the user Claudia García.

The videos were replicated on various networks by fans of Mexican celebrities, who applauded the dance.

In addition, Tenoch Huerta shared one of the videos that captured him on his Instagram stories: “starting the week with everything”, he added.

It is not the first time that Tenoch has danced at film events, during the premiere of his Marvel film, the actor danced next to actress Lupita Nyong’o to the rhythm of Elvis Crespo.

Aparicio and Huerta have had a close relationship, at the 2019 Platino Awards he gave her a flower and said: “I give you this dahlia as a token of admirationrespect and affection that I feel for you (…) for your work as a woman, as a person who represents the best of the world in which we are”.

She answered: “this shows that it is possible for a woman to work side by side with a partner”.
