Tesla Inc. could. to be the single largest beneficiary of supply entered into the trade agreement between the US and China.
As part of Wednesday's signature date, China will import more energy storage systems and parts from the United States. Gigafactory Tesla in Nevada is the largest battery plant in the United States to date, accounting for 42% of national production, according to data from BloombergNEF. No other manufacturer in America comes close to his ability.
While most Tesla batteries enter electric cars, the company is expanding its business to construct huge battery packs that can store electricity for large-scale power grids. In fact, the company Palo Alto, based in California, is negotiating a contract to provide cobalt – a key element in lithium-ion batteries – to its recently opened Shanghai Gigeafactory, according to people familiar with the t content.
China is by far the largest battery producer in the world and factories can even make 275,560 megawatts-hours of cells. The U.S paths as the distant second, at 33,116 megawatts-hours, according to BloombergNEF data.
