[San Francisco, 18th Reuters]-Elon Musk, CEO of US electric vehicle (EV) giant Tesla, said yesterday that he could no longer support the Democratic Party and said he would vote for the Republican Party in the future. He posted on Twitter.
“I’ve voted for the Democratic Party so far, because I thought it was a (generally) compassionate party, but now it’s a party of division and hatred, and I can’t support it anymore. I’m going to vote for the Republican Party in the future.” And said.
He also tweeted, “Look at their tampering with me.” Mr. Musk has embarked on the acquisition of Twitter, which operates a short-text posting site.
Mr. Musk recently said he intends to overturn measures to permanently freeze the account of former President Trump (Republican Party) if the Twitter acquisition is realized. He also describes Twitter as having a far-left bias because it is headquartered in California, known for its progressive politics.
Mr. Musk has openly criticized the Biden administration and the Democratic Party’s proposal to raise taxes for the ultra-rich and give tax incentives to EVs produced by trade union makers. Tesla’s rice plant has no unions.
