[Reuters]-Elon Musk, CEO of US electric vehicle (EV) giant Tesla, said on the 4th that the number of employees of the company will increase in the next 12 months, but the number of salaried workers will hardly change. He said he wouldn’t. He changed his position that personnel reduction was necessary.
“The total number of employees will increase, but the number of salaried workers will be almost flat,” he posted on Twitter.
On the 2nd, he had a “very bad impression” of the economy and had just sent an email to executives that needed a 10% reduction in headcount.
In another email sent to employees on the 3rd, he said that “there is an excess of staff in many fields” and that he will reduce salaried workers by 10% but “will increase the number of hourly employees.”
