The 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO is considered one of the best high-performance cars in the world. Not in vain he participated in numerous competitions (including the Tour de France of Automobiles of the year that gives it its name). This jewel of the Italian team, produced between 1962 and 1964, is already a collector’s classic, for which in 2013 an anonymous buyer paid US $ 52 million. Now, it is trading higher: its price is estimated to be around US $ 70 million.
Rolls-Royce Boat Tail
Price: US $ 28 million
The Rolls-Royce Boat Tail gets its name because the design of its rear part mimics the stern of a boat. It has nothing to envy the most expensive yachts in the world: in its 5.7 meters in length (to continue in nautical terms) it has the necessary space to have a champagne and taste a good caviar (with cooler included). Of its mechanics little transpired, except that it includes a 6.75 V12 biturbo engine with 563 hp. And its price? US $ 28 million.
Bugatti ‘La Vouiture Noire’
Price: US $ 18.7 million
Presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 2019, La Vouiture Noire is a tribute to the classic Type 57 SC Atlantic, developed between 1936 and 1938. It is a one-time edition that was sold to an unknown customer for US $ 18. 7 million. Rumor has it that it could be the Austrian tycoon Ferdinand Piëch, former head of the Volkswagen Group, or the footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo. Its features include a carbon body painted by hand in a gloss black color and an engine with 1,500 horsepower.
Price: $ 9 million
With this model, the French car brand pays tribute to the EB110, also known as the Centodieci, a sports car produced in the early 90 ‘that then did not perform as expected. This exclusive version (there are only 10 units), on the other hand, does seem to have conquered steering wheel lovers. It has an 8.0-liter 16-cylinder engine and four turbos, practically 1600 horses, a top speed of 380 km / h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 2.4 seconds.
Price: $ 8 million
The German brand also manages to sneak into the list of the most expensive cars in the world with the Exelero, created in 2005 on behalf of the tire manufacturer Fulda Tires. The objective of its manufacture was to test the performance on a large scale of the new high performance racing tires of this brand. The firm only made 200 units. This sports car has a long low hood that houses a V12 engine of up to 700 hp and, although it is slower than its competitors in acceleration, it goes from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.4 seconds, it is capable of reaching the same 351 km / h maximum speed despite its weight, 2.66 tons.
Price: $ 5 million
This two-seater is an evolution of the Bugatti Chiron with a limited edition of 40 units. It has a power of 1,500 horses, acceleration from 0 to 100 in 2.4 and top speed of 380 km / h. Who bought it is unknown. However, as their sales coordinator Anne Bynat explained, the vehicle customization process was relatively straightforward, as their owners already owned at least one Chiron.
Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita
Price: US $ 4.8 million
Its 4.8-liter V8 engine is responsible with the environment (it was adapted to the use of biofuels by 85%). It has a power of 1,018 horses, and an acceleration in 2.9 seconds from 0 to 100 km / h and a maximum speed of 410 km / h. Among its attractions is its unique way of reflecting the sun on the body Trevita, Swedish abbreviation that translates to ‘three whites’: it shines as if millions of small white diamonds were infused within the carbon fiber body.
Price: US $ 4.5 million
Based on the design of the Lamborghini Aventador, which sought maximum aerodynamic efficiency to have an experience even closer to driving a race car, the Lamborghini Veneno copies the chassis and propulsion system of this, but improves its engine (from V10 to V12 of maximum 750 CV at 8,400 revolutions). In addition, it adds a characteristic rear wing that can be moved to three positions. In October 2013, the same version of the sports convertible was revealed, the so-called Lamborghini Veneno Roadster, of which nine copies were made. Together with the three of the coupe, they make this edition a limited offer of twelve units.
Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+
Price: $ 3.9 million
Earlier this year, Bugatti announced a new Chiron Sport model that aimed to exceed 300 miles per hour (480 km / h). Production of 30 units has already started. The fluid bodywork and the striped motifs stand out.
Price: US $ 3.6 million
Like the Lamborghini Veneno model, the Sian is also inspired by the Aventador SVJ. Its main difference with its follower is its engine. It is the first hybrid car of the brand. This is demonstrated in the horsepower, lower on average, 819 hp with a naturally aspirated V12 engine. This series has 63 units, referring to Lamborghini’s founding year in 1963.
