Five international galleries have joined forces to present the exhibition 20 flowers and Some Bigger Pictures. These works were created by David Hockney in 2021, from paintings made on Ipad, during his confinement, in his house in Normandy a year earlier. Five landscapes, 20 still lifes of flowers, a room with gladioli… These paintings inspired by the observation of daily life capture the ephemeral, capture a moment. We find there this art of space specific to David Hockney who builds various plans of vision of a panorama. The Normandy countryside is dressed in joyful colors and abstract shapes, the seasons pass. “I think that’s what we need today: fresh images of this world which is so beautiful,” says the painter. A hymn to renewal and beauty.

Ludivine Sagnier, alone on stage at the City Theater

Ludivine Sagnier in The consent by Vanessa Springora at the city theatre. city theater

Ludivine Sagnier is rare in the theater. After New Roman by Christophe Honoré, where she played Nathalie Sarraute, here she is for the first time alone on stage, carrying the autobiographical words of Vanessa Springora. “It is one of the fundamental texts of the era MeToo in France. Vanessa Springora is a whistleblower. Not to warn about predators – we know they exist – but about the complexity of certain concepts. What is the consent of a 14-year-old girl who lives a mad passion with a 50-year-old man worth? And the consent of those around you? She transformed her story into a collective questioning of society,” says the actress. In turn, with the director Sébastien Davis, she turned this literary object into a one and a half hour show, her share of commitment. Revolting, poignant, essential.
